Our Logo/Seal

PSCA-SEAL LARGE-2-12-7-2022.jpg

The logo/seal includes the organization's name, with an inner and outer circle (a circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, all cyclic movement, and GOD) along with a periwinkle (flower) in the middle – why the periwinkle?

Certain scholars believed that the periwinkle flower was the most common wildflower brought to the gravesites of enslaved Americans. In addition, the perennial flower has guided researchers to many abandoned burial grounds that would have otherwise gone undetected.

In summary, the resilient periwinkle is the symbol that represents the endurance of enslaved Americans and their legacy.
